Its snowing in Las Vegas and people are losing their minds

first_imgIt’s snowing in Las Vegas and people are losing their minds LAS VEGAS — After the record snowfalls that much of Canada has seen this winter, a measly inch of powder seems almost laughable. But many people in Las Vegas don’t appear to be laughing as the city was hit by its second snowfall in just one week.Yes, you read that right. Snow is falling in Sin City.According to NBC, Henderson, Nevada, located just southeast of Las Vegas, saw a record-setting inch of snow Wednesday night, with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark. The city first saw snow this year on Feb. 10, and again on Monday of this week. This, of course, is extremely rare for a city that has seen only three snowfall days twice before since 1937 (the last time was in 1949). The last time Vegas saw any measurable snow was on Dec. 17, 2008, when 3.6 inches of white stuff fell from the sky. This year’s weather phenomenon, reports NBC, is all thanks to snow levels dropping to 2,000 feet.More news:  Flight Centre Travel Group takes full ownership of Quebec-based agencySay what you will about the cold temps and the slushy commute, but you can’t argue that the snow makes for some captivating (and hilarious) images.
